On December 21st, 2017 a ceremony took place during which the Director of the Nencki Institute, prof. Adam Szewczyk, in acknowledgment of special merits for the development of the Nencki Institute, handed the medal to Dr. Marcin Szumowski. Dr Marcin Szumowski created and for many years managed at the Nencki Institute, the Department of International Cooperation and Project Management. At the same time, he inaugurated the operation of the PIIN Innovative Platform of the Nencki Institute, which promoted cooperation with companies and patent applications at the Nencki Institute. Currently, he manages the company OncoArendi Therapeutics SA, an innovative biotechnology company specializing in the search, development and commercialization of new drugs used in the treatment of inflammatory and cancer diseases.
