On 13th January 2010 a seminar titled „Patent for a scientist” took place at the Nencki Institute. During this event a question of importance of intellectual property in research was thoroughly discussed. Concurrently it was inauguration of the Nencki Institute Innovation Platform. One of the main goals of launching the Nencki Institute Innovation Platform (NIiP) is to increase innovation and exploitation of the results or scientific research carried out at the Institute. NIiP is to serve as the primary source of information about the Intellectual Property (IP) protection and management, the processes of technology transfer and commercialization of research results. At the same time NIiP will serve as the basic promotion and information channel about the scope of Institute’s scientific research and the R&D offer of the Institute for its current and potential industry partners, in particular in the biotech sector.
