On 1st January 2020, the Nencki Institute began the implementation of the NEBI Project - National Centre for Advanced Analysis of Biological and Biomedical Imaging, obtained under the Intelligent Development Operational Programme.

The project aims to create the National Centre for Advanced Image Analysis in Biological and Biomedical Sciences - an advanced IT infrastructure for data collection and processing, and to create a state-of-the-art integrated platform for multidimensional imaging of biological processes that are crucial for appropriate functioning of the organism as well as underlying civilization diseases.

To enable the implementation of the project, in 2021, at the Research Station of the Nencki Institute in Mikołajki, a modern, two-storey scientific and research building will be built, which will house, amongn others, the Laboratory of Modelling and Visualization of the Dynamics of Complex Biological Processes, a server room, along with IT and telecommunication facilities. Additionally, a Laboratory of Biological and Biomedical Imaging with High Passage Techniques, and a Laboratory of Imaging of Structures and Functions of Cells and Tissues with High Passage Techniques, will be established in one of the buildings located in the Research Station of the Nencki Institute in Mikołajki. Thanks to the development and implementation of solutions allowing for controlled and shared access to generated data, the online platform, available to numerous users, will fully support the remote design process, as well as advanced visual analysis and processing of data from high-resolution microscopes, high-pass research equipment, and computational experiments.

On May 28th, 2020, at the Nencki Institute, a contract for the execution of the architectural-construction project was signed with an architectural company, which was selected in a competition. We are pleased to present a visualization of the new building of the National Centre for Advanced Analysis of Biological and Biomedical Imaging.
