Art and Science exhibition at the Nencki Institute

On  January 17th, 2018, at the Center of Neurobiology Hall of the Nencki Institute PAS, took place the vernissage of the exhibition entitled Art and Science - "Bioimagine: Inspiration of Invisible World?” " The meeting highlighted the year of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Nencki Institute.

The exhibition is the result of workshops that took place at the Nencki Institute Hydrobiological Station in Mikołajki in September 2017, co-organized by The Faculty of Art of the University of Rzeszow and The Faculty of Art of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Symposium and workshops were sponsored by Polish Biochemical Society, The Association of Polish Artists (Rzeszow district) and Olympus Poland.

The artists who were invited sought new inspirations based on microscopic imaging of cell structures and aquatic microorganisms.

The exhibition presented at the vernissage consists of more than 30 works by Kamila Bednarska, Barbar Bokota-Tomala, Łukasz Bożycki (the Nencki Institute), Anna Drońska, Marek Haba, Joanna Kaczmarczyk, Agata Karaś, Antoni Nikiel, Marek Olszyńsk, Mirosław Pawłowski, Marcin Piotrowicz, Marek Szczęsny, Maciej Śliwiak, Jerzy Tomala, Magdalena Uchman and Piotr Woroniec jr.  

The exhibition can be visited until January 30th, 2018, between 8.00 am. and 4.00 pm.
