Dr. Patrycja Jakubek-Olszewska from the Laboratory of Mitochondrial Biology and Metabolism of the Nencki Institute has been named one of the five laureates of the “Roots of the Future” scholarship program, organized by the CRIDO Foundation.

The program is dedicated to PhD students and holders of a doctoral degree in biological and environmental sciences under the age of 35 who are conducting basic research or working in niche yet crucial areas for science advancement.

This year’s edition received 263 applications from 56 research centers across Poland. The formal award ceremony took place on May 12.
