On November 25, 2025, the International PhD School in Biology and Translational Medicine – Bio4Med was officially established. The agreement to create the School was signed by the directors of the founding institutions: Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Director of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Piotr Nowicki, Director of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. The Nencki Institute will serve as the School's leading institution.
The Bio4Med Doctoral School will train future scientists in two disciplines: biology and medicine. The Bio4Med programme is focused on translational research, bridging fundamental knowledge with clinical applications, which addresses the growing needs of science.
The first recruitment to the School will start in the second quarter of 2026, and the inauguration of education is planned for October 2026. The international character of the School will provide doctoral students with access to an extensive network of scientific collaboration and the opportunity to conduct ambitious research projects.
