Hands-on course at Nencki Institute

On 14-15 May at Nencki Institute a hands-on course “Introduction to modeling of nervous system” took place. The course was organized under the auspices of the Polish Society for Neuroscience. The main goals were introduction of the fundamental notions and techniques used in computational neuroscience and a practical introduction to the NEURON software, the most popular tool for modeling the nervous system at different scales. The course participation was limited to seventeen people, including five from the Nencki Institute four from institutions out of Warsaw. The participants were students or graduates of computer science, physics, mathematics, biology, pharmacology, neurobiology, psychology, and even linguistics and musicology.
