Ochota is one of the oldest and one of the most beautiful districts in Warsaw, with an area of 972 ha and the population of over 80,000 inhabitants. It has been ranked one of the top 3 most attractive districts in Warsaw to live in, according to the 2015 study on attractiveness of living conditions.
Ochota has all the features of an ideal district. It is quiet, historical yet fashionable, and located near the city centre. It has well developed communication and vast recreational areas. In recent years it has become the vogue among Warsaw’s districts. Numerous cafes and restaurants have emerged in the area, vibrant and populated all the time by young people. In addition, the proximity of historical Lindley’s Filters, Szczęśliwicki Park, Pole Mokotowskie and city centre make Ochota one of the most liked among Warsaw’s districts. Therefore, it is not surprising it is also the most densely populated one.

Nencki Institute is located in the Ochota Campus, a big biomedical academic and research campus in the Ochota district, 6 km from the Chopin Warsaw Airport, and about 4 km from the Warsaw Central railway station.
