The Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS is seeking a candidate for the position of: Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory of Neuroinformatics
Number of available positions: 1
Place of work: Laboratory of Neuroinformatics
Researcher career profiles (R1-R4): R2/R3
Field of science: Neurophysiology
Type of recruitment: OPUS21 “Integration of sensory and cortical input in the generation of ketamine-dependent high-frequency oscillations in rodents.”
- PhD degree
- Strong motivation, interest and creativity.
- Experience with signal processing, coding/script writing experience for data analyses of EEG/LFP/unit recordings.
- Ideally some experience with in vivo electrophysiology
- Good spoken and written English.
Subanesthetic doses of ketamine are used to treat depression and to model certain features of schizophrenia. We have published a series of studies attempting to understand ketamine-enhanced high-frequency oscillations (around 150 Hz). This project will use electrophysiological recordings, and other techniques, to better understand the nature of this rhythm. The project will involve analyzing LFPs/units obtained from silicon probe electrodes implanted in freely moving rats. The postdoc should be experienced with advanced signal processing to carry out this type of analyses on 64-channel recordings. Additionally, to support other ongoing electrophysiology projects which require signal processing skills. Ideally, the postdoc would be interested to learn in vivo electrophysiology implantation and recording methodologies. There is an option to work remotely.
Duration: up to 30 months
Salary: Around 9,700 PLN/month gross
Scope of tasks:
- Examine changes in brain activity induced by ketamine injection
- Signal processing and data analyses
- Ideally, some in vivo electrophysiology experience
- Type of contract: Full time NCN OPUS21
- Duration of contract: 30 months
Application procedure and deadline:
Required documents (CV, scientific achievements, cover letter, diplomas, employment certificates, certificates, credentials):
- Letter of motivation
- PhD certificate
- Emails for two referees
The documents should be sent to email@example.com with note “postdoc MH” in the email title, the deadline is 8th September 2023.
