Aleksandra Herman, PhD, DSc, from the Laboratory of Brain Imaging of the Nencki Institute received a scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists.
This year, scholarships were awarded to 228 scientists representing all scientific and artistic disciplines. Dr. Herman was awarded in the field of social sciences (psychology).
Dr. Herman completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Sussex, UK. Following her PhD, she joined the Lab of Action and Body led by Prof. Manos Tsakiris at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Currently, she is a researcher at the Laboratory of Brain Imaging, where she investigate what happens when body-brain communication becomes disrupted. Specifically, she studies nociplastic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome.
