Nencki Institute PAS at the Science Picnic

On May 10, 2025, scientists from the Nencki Institute PAS participated in the Science Picnic organized by Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre, held annually at the National Stadium. This is one of the most significant science popularization events in Europe.

We prepared six interactive stations introducing topics related to neuroscience, cell biology, and brain research. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the structure and functions of brains across different species, observe simulations of behavioral experiments with rodents, and become familiar with brain research methods such as EEG and fMRI. In addition, participants could listen to a presentation on brain gliomas and new possibilities in cancer therapy, as well as participate in creative workshops by making models and “brain caps.”

Our booth attracted tremendous interest. Hundreds of visitors stopped by, and the conversations, questions, and fascinating discussions continued.

Thank you to everyone involved in organizing this year’s Nencki Institute booth and all who visited us and actively participated in the event. Your engagement motivates us to continue promoting science!
