On March 12th 2018, the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland granted a patent (number P.416041), for an invention entitled: “Application of naringenin and a naringenin-containing product and a method of slowing down, counteracting and preventing the process of vitiligo problem”. In 2015, completion of the project of the National Research and Development Centre PBS1/B8/1/2012 was obtained, involving the Nencki Institute PAS (Laboratory of prof. Jerzy Duszyński and Laboratory of prof. Adam Szewczyk) and the Scientific and Research Centre Dr IRENA ERIS as beneficiaries. The results of the project were published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and Biochemical Journal.
The Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, and Dr Irena Eris Cosmetic Laboratory, hold full exclusivity to this patent. The authors of this invention from Nencki Institute are Jerzy Duszyński, Joanna Szczepanowska, Adam Szewczyk, Mariusz Więckowski and Piotr Bednarczyk (SGGW). The joint patent application for the introduction of a new dermocosmetic series Pharmaceris V was completed in 2016. The products are recommended for adults and children for protection and daily care, compensate of skin color in patients with a vitiligo problem and de-pigmentation changes (www.pharmaceris.com).
