On April 27, 2022, during the Reporting and Election Assembly of the Polish Biochemical Society, the new authorities of the Society were elected for the years 2022-2025. Prof. dr hab. Adam Szewczyk was elected as a new President of the Society.
Prof. Adam Szewczyk was a long-term Secretary and vice-President of the Polish Biochemical Society. In the years 2006-2014 he participated in the works of the Executive Committee of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS). He was a co-organizer of FEBS Congresses, which were held in Warsaw (2004) and Krakow (2019). Prof. Adam Szewczyk was a long-term director and is currently the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He conducts research in the field of molecular bioenergetics on mitochondrial ion channels.
