Scientific Networks

Nencki Institute is currently coordinating three scientific networks, financed by the Polish Ministry for Science and Higher Education:

1. Polish Network for Cellular and Molecular Biology, directed by Prof. Jerzy Duszyński. The following institutes are the Network members: Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS, Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS, International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Mossakowski Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine PAS, Institute of Pharmacology PAS, Institute of Neurology and Psychiatry, and Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy PAS.

2. Polish Mitochondrial Network (Mitonet.pl), directed by Prof. Jerzy Duszyński and coordinated by Adam Szewczyk. Laboratories from the following institutes constitute the Network: Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS, Mossakowski Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine PAS, and Institute “Monument- Centre for Child’s Health”.

3. Scientific Network for Mechanism of Cell Motility, directed by Assoc. Prof. Jolanta Rędowicz. The network has been formed by the laboratories from Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, and Center of Oncology-Institute.

Also, three laboratories from the Nencki Institute (headed by prof. Leszek Kaczmarek, Prof. Małgorzata Kossut and Prof. Jolanta Skangiel-Kramska) belong to the Scientific Network “Search for the mechanism of action of potential neurotropic drugs”, coordinated by Institute of Pharmacology PAS.
