“What is drug repurposing and why is it relevant?”

In this SPARK Europe webinar Hans Platteeuw will introduce the topic of drug repurposing, as well as opportunities and challenges to developing a new chemical entity as drug versus repurposing existing entity.

Hans is a chemist by training. He has a long-standing experience in product development in both the innovator, generics and value-added medicines industry. He is a founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Galenicap, a company fully dedicated  to the development of New Therapeutic Entities.

His company acts as an incubator that starts from an academic concept to address a clinical need via existing medications, then transforms the concept into an unique pharmaceutical product with clinical proven endpoints of efficacy and safety and that verifies that all requirements are fulfilled to make the product ready to be available for patients globally including regulatory, intellectual property and financial considerations.
