The Jan Dembowski prize for the 100th anniversary of the Nencki Institute

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Nencki Institute, on Friday, 19th May 2017, in the Neurobiology Centre Conference Room  a scientific meeting "POPULARIZATION OF SCIENCE - SCIENCE OF POPULARIZATION", combined with the awarding of the Jan Dembowski prize for science popularization in 2016, was held.

 

The guests were welcomed by the Director of the Nencki Institute, prof. Adam Szewczyk, and then prof. Leszek Kuźnicki presented the profile of prof. Jan Dembowski, as a scientist and popularizer.

ABOUT THE ART OF PROMOTING SCIENCE and the book on this topic were also talked about by Natalia Osica, an expert on PR science, and editor Wiktor Niedzicki, its authors.

 

Then prof. Adam Szewczyk awarded prizes for the popularization of science in 2016: Paweł Boguszewski, for the most active science popularizer among scientists, Doctoral Student Government, for active propagation of science, and Anna Wasik for long-term contribution to the popularization of science. Numerous employees and PhD students of the Institute were also awarded the Diploma of Recognition.

 

After the scientific meeting a picnic was held in the Nencki Institute gardens.
