The National Science Centre Grants’s for the Nencki Institute

The National Science Centre has published ranking lists of projects which have qualified for financial backing within the limits of the competitions announced by the NSC on 15th March, 2016. Scientists from the Nencki Institute received financial backing for the 12 research projects they worked on in OPUS11, PRELUDIUM11 and SONATA11 competitions.

OPUS - Competition for research projects, which included financing the purchase or production of research equipment necessary for the implementation of these projects

dr hab. Piotr Bednarczyk - Cardioprotective flavonoids: a new regulators of mitochondrial potassium channels?

dr Anna Bielak-Żmijewska - Epigenetic changes leading to remodeling of chromatin structure and alterations in gene expression in replicative and premature senescence of vascular smooth muscle cells; histone H3 modifications and the involvement of HP1 alpha.

dr hab. Krzysztof Nieznański - Role of prion protein in amyloidogenesis and neurotoxicity of Tau protein.

dr Tomasz Jacek Prószyński - Function of SH3BP2 protein in the organization of the postsynaptic machinery at the neuromuscular junction.

dr Aneta Szymaszek - Neural correlates of temporal information processing therapy in aphasic subjects.

dr hab. Tomasz Michał Wilanowski - Regulation of transcription of genes from the Grainyhead-like family in human cells, in the context of cancer.

PRELUDIUM - Competition for research projects carried out by people starting a career in science who do not hold a doctor’s degree.

mgr Magdalena Łuniewska - The role of visual crowding in developmemntal dyslexia.

mgr Monika Oparka - The impact of the oxidative stress-mediated activation of p66Shc signaling pathway on mitochondrial bioenergetics and reactive oxygen species level in human breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7.

mgr inż. Marta Magnowska - In vivo role of transient protease activity in synaptic plasticity.
