Position: post-doc

Requirements: 

- PhD degree in the field of neuroscience (neurophysiology, cognitive (neuro)psychology, neuroinformatics or related fields);

- theoretical knowledge in psychology, and experience in experimental cognitive neuropsychology;

- experience in EEG and fMRI recording and analysis;

- knowledge of signal processing methods and programs (Matlab, SPM, EEGlab, or others...);

- high proficiency in spoken and written English;

- good publication record;

- strong motivation;

- ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team;

- ability to work flexitime hours and weekends when necessary.

Task description:

The project is aimed to disclose the unique sets of EEG spatio-temporo-spectral features (EEG-fingerprint, EEGfp) that are specific for activation of brain structures of attention/control networks. 

The cooperative research funded by NCN Symfonia 4 grant is aimed to disclose the unique sets of EEG spatio-temporo-spectral features (EEG-fingerprint, EEGfp) that are specific for activation of brain structures of executive attention networks. 

 

The group within the Nencki Institute, performs experiments during which participants solve multisource interference tasks, and other cognitive tests activating attention network while their brain activity is recorded by means of EEG and fMRI. The candidate for the position is expected to plan, perform and coordinate analyses of fMRI and EEG data in correlation with psychological tests. Proposition of a follow-up experiment validating EEG-fingerprints will be highly appreciated.

An employment contract for a period from 6 months to 2 years within the frame of the NCN SYMFONIA project; post-doc (scientific-technical) position;
