We are opening a new chapter in the history of the Nencki Institute and Polish science – the National BioImaging Center BioPixel is up and running!

On June 11, 2025, a grand opening of the National BioImaging Center BioPixel took place at the Nencki Institute campus in Mikołajki. It's a unique investment of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS, implemented in consortium with PSNC and IBCH PAS in Poznan.

BioPixel is an advanced technology center that enables groundbreaking research in the fields of biology, biomedicine, biological chemistry and biological imaging - with a clear perspective on implementing research outcomes into clinical practice and collaboration with the biotech industry.

The investment, worth over 257 million PLN and co-financed by the European Union, is part of the European Research infrastructure of the Euro-BioImaging ERIC and plays a crucial role in the international network of biomedical imaging.

The Center was established on the initiative and under the leadership of Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyn, Director of the Nencki Institute PAS, whose vision for the Nencki Institute is to build a bridge between basic research and the industry.
