On Saturday, 3^th October, the 2^nd Educational Workshop was organized on the Hydrobiological Station - Mikołajki by the BioCentrum Scientific Education and the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS. About 120 students from high, middle and primary schools from Mikołajki and the surrounding area participated in this workshop. Young people independently made some experiments where they explored the mysteries of proteins, learned what it is the DNA, find out unusual properties of yeast and red cabbage, and answered the question, why we need enzymes. They also had the opportunity to observe by microscope planktonic organisms that occur in the Great Mazurian Lakes. During the Workshop they see how the modern biology and biotechnology can be interesting and fascinating.
