On December 8, 2025, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS and Mazowieckie Specjalistyczne Centrum Zdrowia im. prof. Jana Mazurkiewicza (MSCZ) signed a cooperation agreement in the field of research and development. The aim of the collaboration is to identify biomarkers of psychiatric disorders and to assess the effectiveness of their treatment.
The document was signed by prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Director of the Nencki Institute, and dr. Czesław Ducki, Director of MSCZ.
Under the agreement, blood samples from MSCZ patients will be examined, and laboratory experiments will be conducted at the Nencki Institute. The collaboration will also include the exchange of expertise between teams, working consultations, and the publication of research results, while ensuring the protection of intellectual property on both sides.
At the Nencki Institute, the project will be led by prof. Jakub Włodarczyk in cooperation with dr. Monika Bijata. At MSCZ, the research will be coordinated by prof. Agata Szulc together with dr. Magdalena Dutsch-Wicherek. Although prof. Szulc was not present at the ceremonial signing, she will serve as the head of the MSCZ research team.
This joint initiative represents an important step toward advancing translational research that may lead to improved diagnostic and therapeutic methods in psychiatry.
