On Thursday (21.05) we will host dr. Mayank Chaturvedi (Oncology R&D at AstraZeneca in Poland).

The lecture will take place at 3 p.m. in the CN lecture hall and it will be followed by a get together.

Profile: Dr. Mayank Chaturvedi is a Global Development Scientist Director in Oncology R&D at AstraZeneca in Poland, working on global clinical trials. Originally from India and trained as a pharmacist, he moved to Poland to pursue his PhD at the Nencki Institute, where he completed his doctoral research in 2014 in the lab of Professor Leszek Kaczmarek as part of an international doctoral programme funded by the Foundation for Polish Science. During his PhD he received multiple grants and awards, including the Preludium grant from the National Science Centre, 13 young investigator travel grants, and best oral presentation awards at FEBS congress. He published 5 publications during PhD and was nominated by the Nencki Institute in 2014 for the Prime Minister’s Prize in Poland for the best doctoral thesis. Following his PhD, he undertook a postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry. In this talk, he will share his journey from Nencki to industry, along with key lessons and practical insights for students considering careers beyond academia.
