Inauguration of the Nencki Institute’s Centre for Translational Research

On 17 June, the Nencki Institute inaugurated its Centre for Translational Research. During the event, state-of-the-art imaging equipment was presented, including a high-resolution electron microscope and advanced optical microscopes. The equipment, purchased with funds from KPO, combined with the expertise of the Institute’s specialists, will support translational research and strengthen the flow of knowledge from science to the economy.

During the inauguration, Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Director of the Nencki Institute, spoke about the hopes the new Centre brings for Polish science. Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, highlighted the high quality of research conducted at the Institute. Joanna Kuszlik-Cichosz, Deputy Director of the National Information Processing Institute – National Research Institute (OPI BIP), drew attention to the rapid pace of the investment.

The event concluded with a debate titled “From Science to Business – Polish Research Institutions on the Innovation Market”. Participants included Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska and this year’s Digital Shapers award winners: Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Prof. Piotr Sankowski, Director of IDEAS Research Institute, and Prof. Piotr Garstecki, CEO of Scope Fluidics S.A.
