Brain Awareness Week 2010 in Warsaw

Brain Awareness Week 2010 in Warsaw was held on March 13-19. Series of lectures aiming at an increase of knowledge about brain and nervous system in general public was organized traditionally by Polish Neuroscience Society and the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, in cooperation with the magazine Polityka. In 2010 we invited the following speakers: Dr. Leonora Bużańska, Prof. Małgorzata Kossut, Prof. Irena Namysłowska, Prof. Andrzej Wróbel and Prof. Jolanta Zawilska. The lectures met with great interest of the audience and were followed by numerous questions and endless discussions. Two lectures were transmitted via internet. One of the lectures is available on the Polish Neuroscience Society website http://www.ptbun.org.pl/tm2010 off-line. Additionally to lectures, several competitions have been organized for primary and high school students to popularize knowledge about the nervous system.
