Z Instytutem była związana od początku lat 60. ubiegłego wieku, tu bowiem jeszcze jako studentka Wydziału Biologii i Nauk o Ziemi Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego odbywała staż badawczy pod kierunkiem doktora Witolda Drabikowskiego.
