Distinguished for Working Towards Democratic Transition
Among those who received awards were two employees of the Nencki Institute: Barbara Wiąckiewicz was decorated with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and Professor Krzysztof Turlejski was decorated with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. President Komorowski emphasized that these orders commemorate the victory of free speech and free thought as elements of Polish national freedom.
