Wiktoria Podolecka – I’m in my second year of PhD studies in the Neuroinformatics laboratory. My research focuses on high frequency oscillations in the olfactory bulb and their relation to the nasal epithelium. I like reading, watching horror movies, and good food. I am the president of the student council and am in charge of organising events. I am always happy to help.
Julia Świderska – I am on my third year of PhD studies, I work at the Lab of Molecular Basis of Behaviour, focusing on the role of aging in molecular basis of spatial decisions, especially plasticity in the hippocampus. I have passion for many thigs, so generally I absorb knowledge like a sponge and am always eager to learn. In my spare time I enjoy reading books, playing tabletop and video games, creating graphics and cooking. I also work at LabRescue so if you want a fuzzy lab friend at home I am your person!
Kinga Nazaruk – I’m a second year PhD student at the Laboratory of Epileptogenesis led by Prof. Katarzyna Łukasiuk. My project is about the Glympatic System in Epileptogenesis. In my free time, I enjoy visiting operas, listening to classical music and reading. I’m also interested in the culture of Asian countries, ceramics and brewing a good cup of coffee. As a member of the PhD Student council I also help with some legal concerns.
Katarzyna Sawicka – I am third year PhD student in the Laboratory of Spatial memory led by dr hab. Rafał Czajkowski. My PhD project focuses on the cortical reinstatement between retrosplenial cortex and hippocampus in accordance with hippocampal indexing theory. I study how episodes are stored and retrieved on the cellular level. I enjoy cooking, embroidery, cinema and books. My role in the student council is to rganise soft skills workshops and popularise science
Debadeep Chaudhury – I’m a third year PhD student at the Dioscuri Center for Chromatin Biology and Epigenomics led by Prof. Aleksandra Pękowska. I’m mostly involved in bioinformatic analyses studying the evolution of astrocytes in primates. I have too many hobbies and interests to list here, including reading, travelling, video games and many more. As a member of the Council, I want to remind students, PhD is not just about the science, you can have a lot of fun alongside. 🙂
