Job description:

We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical Researcher at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences. The position is in the consortium project ERA-NET TransCan3: “Invigorating immunity against brain metastases in lung and breast cancer patients”. The exciting interdisciplinary project will be carried out in a collaboration with Dr. Martina Seifert, German Cancer Research Center, Christel Herold-Mende, University of Heidelberg, Neta Erez, Tel Aviv University, Manuela Zucknick, University of Oslo. The international consortium will perform an interdisciplinary research using sc-omics on primary tumor tissues and in vitro model systems such as patient-derived organoids (PDO) and in syngeneic mouse models of brain metastasis. The study will be carried out in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology (https://kaminska-lab.edu.pl).

Requirements:

• Expertise in Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedicine, or related quantitative discipline obtained not earlier than 7 years before the engagement in the project (this period might be longer due to family reasons according to NCN rules).
• Knowledge and familiarity with techniques in genomics. Expertise in genomics and single-cell profiling data analysis is highly appreciated.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Scope of tasks:

• Participation in the research project and attendance at team meetings to share results
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments based on single-cell RNA-seq profiling and spatial transcriptomics.
• Work with cell cultures and biochemical methods (gel shift, Western blotting)
• Prepare and write scientific papers for leading journals

Employment conditions:

• 14-month full time work contract
• full-time employment
• type of contract: temporary, Hours Per Week: 40
• gross/gross salary (total employment cost) of 7 000 PLN per month (Total employment cost is the gross/gross amount including employer's expense. It would be the subject of taxes, social and health insurances and other legal deductions according to Polish law.
