Dr. Monika Bijata from the Laboratory of Cell Biophysics at the Nencki Institute, headed by Jakub Włodarczyk, became the laureate of the HOMING program, financed by The Foundation for Polish Science. Dr Bijata is working on interplay between serotoninergic signaling and extracellular matrix in synaptic plasticity. The main purpose of the HOMING Programme, is to encourage young Polish and foreign researchers working abroad, to develop their careers in Poland. Dr. Bijata will receive a fellowship, along with financial support, to carry out the project and to secure participation of one newly hired PhD student. The total budget of the project for the next two years, is 798,000 PLN. (photo taken by Karin Kaiser, MHH).
