Dr. Bartosz Wojtaś from Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology of the Nencki Institute received funding from the Bekker program of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange for a 9-month internship in the group of Prof. Jacek Majewski at the McGill University in Montreal. The project aims to investigate the function of de novo methylation in gliomas in adults and pediatric patients with known epigenetic disorders.

McGill University is currently the 35th University in the world according to the QS World University Ranking 2020, the best University in Canada and a leading world center. The University educated 12 Nobel laureates. It has a great reputation in the field of genetics and bioinformatics. Prof. Majewski is the author of the first papers explaining the disorder of the histone change H3K27me2/3 in histone 3 (H3) mutants and the first papers on principles of action of DNA de novo methylase proteins - DNMT3A/B.
