This Thursday (November, 19th) at 3pm, Dr. Grzegorz Sumara, head of the Dioscuri Centre for Metabolic Diseases, will give a lecture entitled: Signaling Cascades in Metabolic Diseases

Abstract

We aim at understanding how signaling cascades regulating basic cellular processes in adipose tissue, liver, and intestine (lipogenesis, lipolysis as well as nutrient absorption and utilization) contribute to the development of a spectrum of metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and cancer-associated cachexia. We use multidisciplinary approaches combining basic mouse genetics, cell biology (including screening strategies) in conjunction with biochemical and omics methods.
