The researcher will apply his or her practical experience in one (or more) of the following fields: biomedical optical imaging, interferometry, superresolution optical microscopy, adaptive optics, Raman spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, pump probe spectroscopy or optical coherence tomography. The project presents for the researcher also a possibility to use skills in: image processing/analysis, algorithm development, programming of the elements of imaging systems and visualization of microscopy data. The position will suit a person with PhD in: physics, biophysics, optical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or related discipline.
Requirements for candidates are:
• PhD degree (or its equivalent) in: physics, biophysics, optical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or related discipline.
• Practical experience in one (or more) of the following fields: biomedical optical imaging, interferometry, superresolution optical microscopy, adaptive optics, Raman spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, pump probe spectroscopy, optical coherence tomography, image processing/analysis, algorithm development, programming of the elements of imaging systems, visualization of microscopy data.
• Outstanding publication record.
• Ability to produce quality results through teamwork, as demonstrated with joint publications, grant awards and references from the PhD thesis supervisor and letters of recommendation from post-doctoral institutions.
• Proficiency in English.

A detailed analysis of the received applications will be based on the following evaluation criteria:
• List of publications: 0 – 40 points
• Professional experience: 0 – 30 points
• Previous international experience: 0-20 points
• Adequacy of the prepared letter-of-intent with the target-project: 0-15 points
• Reference(s): 0 – 20 points
• Certificates of extra qualifications that may be of some value for the execution of the project: 0 – 15 points
Short-listed candidates with the highest score will be selected for personal interviews. Interviews will take place at the Nencki Institute in August 2012.
Successful candidates will be selected based on the total number of points obtained and with the positive opinion from the BIO-IMAGINE Project coordinator.
