International cooperation

The Nencki Institute’s international cooperation is carried out under bilateral agreements between the Institute and foreign players, in international research and education projects with institutions, universities and companies in other countries and through participation in international programmes. The organization of international scientific symposia, events and meetings is part of  Nencki’s tradition, which contributes to the exchange of experience and contacts between experts, the development of new partnerships and the definition of new platforms for future cooperation.

Participation in Bio4Med (Biology for Medicine), a H2020 Marie Curie COFUND grant to create International Doctoral Programme in Biological Bases of Human Diseases (2015-2020), is one of the Nencki Institute’s most outstanding recent activities involving international cooperation. The major aim of the project is to provide unique, international, inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral doctoral training for Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) in the domain of biological bases of human diseases, combining 22 leading research groups at the Nencki Institute and their scientific partners from world-class laboratories located in EU Member States, Switzerland, Ukraine, Japan, Canada and US.
