Scientific awards of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the Nencki Institute

On 11 December 2019, in the Mirror Room of the Staszic Palace in Warsaw, the ceremony for awarding scientific prizes of the PAS Faculties and scholarships of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences took place.

The award of the II Faculty of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences went to the Scientific Team from the Nencki Institute: dr hab. Artur Marchewka, dr Katarzyna Siuda-Krzywicka, dr Katarzyna Jednoróg, dr Łukasz Bola (Nencki Institute/Institute of Psychology, Jagiellonian University), and dr hab. Marcin Szwed: "Research on inter-modal neuroplasticity, which proved the ability of the human adult brain to carry out plastic reorganisation on a large scale, finding the structural basis for this reorganisation and defining the principle governing inter-modal neuroplasticity. Jan Ludwiczak, a Ph.D. student from the Laboratory of Bioinformatics, received a scholarship from the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences for outstanding achievements.
