On 10th December the Nencki Institute was visited by 3rd year Biotechnology students from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The guests were briefed about the current activities of the Institute and attended a series of lectures on lipid toxicity, potential use of molecular methods in the diagnosis of epilepsy or aging of cancer cells. Then they visited six laboratories where they broadened their knowledge about cancer, the functioning of nerve synapses and cell motility, they familiarized themselves with the methods of creating transgenic animals and had the opportunity to visit the laboratory of microscopy and behold magnetic resonance imaging equipment. All participants emphasized that they. had widen their knowledge a lot, and most of them are already thinking about PhD studies at the Nencki Institute.
