On February 28th, the “reporting” sitting of the Scientific Council took place.
During the opening session for the public, sitting plans for future work were presented by newly hired lab leaders: dr Piotr Brągoszewski, dr Aleksandra Pękowska, and prof. dr hab. Mariusz Więckowski.
Chairman of the Scientific Council, prof. Adam Szewczyk, presented the work of the Scientific Council in 2019.
Next, prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, the director of the Institute, presented a systematic review of achievements and activities that are ongoing within the institute in 2019. Her report was accepted unanimously by members of the Scientific Council.
During the closing session for the public, the Scientific council backed up candidates for the prize of the Division II Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (prof. Katarzyna Nałęcz and dr Małgorzata Zawadzka), and the award of Prime Minister for research achievements (prof. Bożena Kamińska-Kaczmarek).
Promoters of doctoral dissertations were elected - Bartosz Zglinicki, Ana Maria Martin González, Magdalena Kędra and Joanna Krzemień.
Marcin Herok, Kacper Walentynowicz, Siranjeevi Nagaraj, Małgorzata Wierzbi, Joanna Czarneckia-Herok, Annia Gręda and Małgorzata Górniak-Walas, were granted a Phd in biological sciences.
Reviewers of doctoral dissertations were elected - Sai Santosh Babu Komakul, Roberto Pagano,, Karolina Staniak,, Weronika Szadzińska and Maria Nalberczak-Skóra.
By-laws, Programmes, and Recruitment Procedures of the Warsaw PhD School in Natural and BioMedical Sciences for academic year 2020/2021 were approved. Changes in Statute of the Nencki Institute were also approved.
