On December 8th, 2017 at the Faculty of Biology of Adam Mickiewicz University, the sixth conference MITOCHONDRION took place. The conference, which was attended by nearly 80 people, was organized by the Department of Bioenergetics to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the creation by prof. Jan Michejda of the bioenergetics group in Poznań. To celebrate this jubilee Director of the Nencki Institute, prof. Adam Szewczyk, in acknowledgment of the long-term scientific cooperation between the Department of Bioenergetics and the Institute, awarded the medal of the 100th anniversary of the Nencki Institute to the head of the Department, prof. Wiesław Jarmuszkiewicz. The award for the best oral presentation was given to Agnieszka Walewska from the Laboratory of Intracellular Ion Channels from the Nencki Institute.
