Requirements:
- Prior experience in mouse behavioral tests and analysis.
- Strong interest in neuroscience research and exceptional motivation for scientific research (demonstrated via publications, references of the candidate’s thesis tutor and mentors).
- Doctoral degree obtained not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment
in the project. The period of 7 years may be extended by the duration specified
in the NCN regulations. - Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Project description:
We seek a postdoctoral researcher to tackle a project evolving around enhancing/inhibiting synaptic plasticity processes in the central amygdala to modify appetitive and aversive learning. We plan to use pharmacological and optogenetic approaches to modify brain activity. Thus, an experience in mouse behavioral tests and analysis is a must. A background
in optogenetics, electrophysiology, and programming will be considered very advantageous.
Scope of work:
- Optogenetic stimulation in vivo,
- Electrophysiological recordings on acute brain slices.
Employment conditions:
- full-time fixed-term employment contract
- salary: ca 9.500 PLN (gross) per month
- employment period: 3,5 years
- the date of the project start: February 2024
