Admission step by step
1. Deadlines, projects, documents
Recruitment to the Doctoral School is for research projects. Check the list of projects in the current recruitment round above and select up to three of them (their order matters). Prepare the necessary documents or scans of them in pdf format (you can find the list of the required documents in the Recruitment rules in § 6).
Admissions deadlines – candidates could apply online for the academic year 2026/2027 by submitting their documents:
I admission round: from 18 May 2026 to 31 May 2026
II admission round: from 27 July 2026 to 9 August 2026
III admission round: from 28 December 2026 to 10 January 2027
2. Online registration
During two week of the recruitment, create an account in the recruitment system, upload documents and save. Remember to close your application.
3. Completing the application
In case of deficiencies in your documents, you will receive an email to complete your application within 7 days. Applications that remain uncompleted will not be taken into consideration.
4. Committee evaluation
All closed applications are evaluated by committees and project supervisors. The candidate is assessed separately in each selected project.
5. Recruitment interview
Candidates who score at least 70 points (max. 100) in a given project proceed to the second stage of recruitment and will be invited for an interview by e-mail. The interview will be in Polish and/or English.
The recruitment interview tests the candidate’s:
- knowledge of English,
- predisposition to scientific work,
- basic knowledge at Master’s level within the scientific discipline and in the context of the chosen project
The candidate need to present the research results obtained as a result of the thesis/traineeship/work (more details in the Admission Rules in § 8).
Interviews of candidates are held:
I admission round: from 22 June 2026 to 30 June 2026
II admission round: from 2 September 2026 to 9 September 2026
III admission round: from 1 February to 5 February 2027
6. Results
2-3 weeks after the completion of the interviews, information on admission or a decision on refusal to admit to the Doctoral School will be sent to the candidates.
7. Delivery of the documents
Candidates who have been admitted to the Doctoral School will be asked by the PhD Office of the institute where they will be pursuing their project to provide the necessary documents.
For candidates from the first and second admission round of recruitment, academic year starts on 1st October, while for candidates from the third admission round, academic year starts 1st March.
