Dioscuri Centre for Metabolic Diseases at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, is seeking a highly motivated Technical Researcher.

Requirements:

• MSc degree in biology, biotechnology or related field;
• Experience in cell culture, molecular biology and/or biochemistry techniques; expertise in working with mice or other rodents will be in plus;
• Good spoken and written English;
• Very good organizational skills, especially project and time management skills;
• Proactive approach to achieving tasks and objectives, good interpersonal skills, a collaborative attitude.

Project description and Scope of tasks:

The main aim of our laboratory is to understand the cross-talk of different classes of signaling molecules in regulation of metabolic homeostasis. We are especially interested in unraveling novel signaling modules promoting adipose tissue, skeletal muscles and intestine dysfunction during metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes.

The chosen candidate will work on the scientific project together with a senior postdoctoral fellow. The duties will cover basic molecular biology techniques (isolation of proteins, RNA and DNA, Western blots, qPCRs), cell culture techniques, and handling of laboratory animals. Therefore, candidates familiar with any of the above mentioned techniques are especially welcome. A chosen candidate will also be partially responsible for the organization of the laboratory work. The working language in the group is English.

The position be initially financed for 18 months. We offer a competitive salary and a stimulating working environment.
