Project title:

NGS platform for comprehensive diagnostics and personalized therapy in neuro-oncology

Project is carried out within the TEAM Tech Core-Facility programme of the Foundation for Polish Science

Project description:

Project will include original biomedical research using DNA sequencing, DNA methylation profiling, high-throughput screening techniques, and cell- and animal-based models. Our lab is part of the vibrant neurobiology research community at Nencki Institute Neurobiology Center. A multidisciplinary team of molecular biologists, cell biologists, bioinformaticians and clinicians studying the role of genetic/epigenetic dysfunctions in a pathology of pediatric brain tumors. Successful candidate will work in a joint computational and experimental environment with excellent resources for experimental validation of hypotheses generated by genomic analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Building cell-, brain organoid and animal-based models for high-throughput screening techniques validation

2. Creating a knowledge database of existing therapies in a field of neuro-oncology

3. Analysis and interpretation genetic variants occurring in brain tumors

Profile of candidates/requirements:

1. PhD in biology/biotechnology/molecular biology/neurobiology/medicine or other related field

2. High motivation to work in science

3. Experience in handling animal and cellular models

4. Experience in basic laboratory techniques: qPCR, western blots, immunohistochemistry

5. Very good English, written and spoken
