Project title: Addicted brain: mapping neural correlates of alcohol relapse

Project description: The project focuses on synaptic plasticity of alcohol addiction, specifically adaptations occurring in alcohol relapse. Within two brain structures – basolateral amygdala and nucleus accumbens – that are principal to execution of motivated behavior, we aim on locating and characterizing neurons that respond to alcohol-associated cues. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  1. Molecular biology techniques
  2. Animal (mice) behavioral tests
  3. Introduction to electrophysiology techniques

Profile of candidates/requirements:

  1. Deep interest in neurosciences and laboratory work
  2. Experience in laboratory techniques (i.e. summer internships)
  3. Fluency in English (written and spoken)
