Dr Bartosz Wojtas has been appointed the head of new core-facility – Laboratory of Sequencing, at the Nencki Institute, which started its activity on 17.05.2021.
Dr Bartosz Wojtas is a graduate of Interdisciplinary Department of Biotechnology at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He obtained PhD from the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Endocrine Oncology of Institute of Oncology, Gliwice Branch. He underwent pre-doctoral training at the Fetal and Perinatal Medicine Research Group in Hospital Clinic in Barcelona and doctoral training in the Division of Endocrinology and Nephrology at the University of Leipzig, Germany.
Dr Wojtas has ten years of experience in the next-generation sequencing, both on the experimental and analytical side. He has an expertise in genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic next-generation sequencing applications. He is a co-author of many publications in a high-impact journals including Cell Reports, Glia and Acta Neuropathologica Communications. He was awarded with NCN and Foundation for Polish Science grants and scholarships.
The aim of the new core-facility laboratory is to provide sequencing services to the Nencki scientific community and external users. The laboratory is equipped with the latest technology (NovaSeq 6000 platform) and expertise to provide the highest level of service. The laboratory is able to aim in high-throughput project preparation, execution and high quality data visualization.
