A 3-year PhD stipendship in the OPUS 14 project “Epigenetic mechanisms determining the defective innate immunity responses in malignant gliomas” (supported by NCN; 4500 PLN) is available in the laboratory of Prof. Bozena Kaminska (www.kaminska-lab.pl), to participate in original biomedical research to study chromatin openess and gene expression regulation in tumor infiltrating immune cells. A candidate will apply cell sorting, animal glioma models, state-of-the-art molecular biology methods: ATACseq, ChIP-seq, RNAseq and single-cell sequencing. She/he will have opportunities to attend international conferences and participate in workshops and other career development programs in preparation for a leadership role in academia or industry. A candidate will be a part of the multidisciplinary team of molecular biologists, cell biologists, bioinformaticians and clinicians studying the role of genetic/epigenetic dysfunctions in a pathology of brain tumors. A successful candidate will join an environment with excellent resources for experimental validation of hypotheses generated by genomic analysis.
The optimal candidate is enthusiastic and highly motivated to pursue a career in academic research. Prior experience in abovementioned methods, a record of work with animals, very good fluency in English is expected.
