Nencki Institute PAS signs cooperation agreement with the University of Warsaw

On 15 June 2026, Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Director of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Kamil Imbir, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw, and Prof. Wojciech Satuła, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, signed a framework agreement on scientific, teaching and organisational cooperation.

The agreement defines the principles of cooperation in scientific, teaching and organisational activities. It covers the joint preparation and implementation of research projects, grant applications, lectures and seminars, the creation of a joint platform for interdisciplinary seminars, the co-organisation of workshops and summer schools, internships and traineeships for students and doctoral candidates, the exchange of research and teaching staff, as well as cooperation in the use of the Nencki Institute’s research infrastructure.

Joint activities will be carried out at the intersection of experimental biology, psychology and physics. This combination makes it possible to analyse complex neurobiological and cognitive processes from different perspectives: from cellular and neuronal mechanisms, through emotional, language-related and cognitive processes, to imaging, measurement and data analysis methods.

On the Nencki Institute’s side, the activities will involve, among others, the Laboratory of Brain Imaging headed by Prof. Artur Marchewka, the Laboratory of Neurobiology of Emotions headed by Prof. Ewelina Knapska, and the Laboratory of Neurobiology of Language Processes headed by Prof. Katarzyna Jednoróg.
