Nowadays, there is increasing emphasis on research making a real-world impact, addressing practical challenges and solving real problems. But what does that really mean in practice? What is technology transfer? More importantly - why should I, as a researcher, care about it and consider getting involved? Let’s take a closer look.

Our guest will be Dr Gabriela Konopka-Cupiał, Director of Centre for Technology Transfer at the Jagiellonian University. Drawing on her extensive experience, she will discuss why technology transfer matters for science and researchers, what benefits it can bring beyond publications, and how it can support career development and visibility. She will also share real-life examples of successes and reflect on the lessons learned from challenges often encountered along the way.
