On Thursday 10.10 we will host Prof. Jan Celichowski from the Poznan University of Physical Education. His lecture will be entitled: What is the difference between the neuromuscular systems in male and female individuals?"

Abstract
The lecture will present sex related differences concerning motor unit and muscle fibers proportions and their contractile properties in skeletal muscles, the number and density of muscle spindles, membrane and firing properties of motoneurons innervating fast and slow motor units as well as monosynaptic inputs to motoneurons from Ia afferents.  These observations enlarge the basic knowledge concerning women's and men's sports, explain a part of sex-related differences in the execution of movements as well as determine future progress of physiotherapy techniques.  

The lecture will take place at 3 p.m. in the CN lecture hall and it will be followed by a get together.
