On Thursday (14.05) we will host dr hab. Edyta Brzóska-Wójtowicz (Zakład Cytologii, IBRiNB, Wydział Biologii, Uniwersytet Warszawski). Her lecture will be entitled: "MicroRNA-126 as a Regulator of Skeletal Muscle Regeneration and Vascular Remodeling". The lecture will take place at 3 p.m. in the CN lecture hall and it will be followed by a get together.

Abstract:

Skeletal muscle regeneration is a complex process that depends on coordinated interactions between muscle stem cells and the vascular environment. Our studies investigate the role of microRNA-126 (miR-126) in regulating these interactions during tissue repair and regeneration. We demonstrate that miR-126 contributes to the balance between myogenic differentiation, vascular remodeling, and restoration of tissue homeostasis following injury. The results indicate that microRNA-dependent signaling is an important component of regenerative processes and may represent a promising therapeutic target in muscle disorders characterized by impaired regeneration, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy. These findings provide new insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal muscle repair and regeneration.
