Prof. Jerzy Duszyński candidate for the post of the President of the PAS

Prof. Jerzy Duszyński and prof. Miroslaw Marody are applying for the position of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences for a 4-year term from 2015-2018. One of these candidates will be chosen by members of the Academy's General Assembly on 19th March 2015.

Prof. Jerzy Duszyński, the head of the Laboratory of the Bioenergetics and Biomembranes at the Nencki Institute, also serves as Dean of Division II: Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is a corresponding member of the PAS since 2007. From 2008-2009 he was the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. For many years, Prof. Duszyński was the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Nencki Institute as well as the director of the Institute.
