7th Conference “CePT – a platform for the development of innovative biomedicine 2018”

On April 17th 2018, in the Didactic Center of the Medical University of Warsaw, a symposium was held, co-organized by the Nencki Institute, devoted to cooperation between science and business.

The aim of the conference, was to enable discussions on improving the cooperation between science and business, and the presentation of scientific projects with a high application value, developing Polish innovation in biomedicine. These were conducted by the researchers of the Center for Preclinical Research and Technology - CePT. The chairman of the scientific sessions, entitled "CePT pro futuro", was prof. Adam Szewczyk, while prof. Bożena Kamińska presented innovative projects implemented by her team. The Nencki Institute also had its own exhibition stand, where Urszula Rybak from the Department of International Cooperation and Project Management, represented the Institute.

An important factor in the program, was the discussion panel "Challenges in contact between business representatives and scientific units", in which prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, Director of the Nencki Institute, took part. Panel discussions included issues related to technology transfer and intellectual property valuation, along with ways of reducing the risks related to R + D work, as well as the possibilities of increasing the current available sources of financing for research projects.
